How To Install Heated Visor Plug On Snowmobile

I have read posts for the Apex where guys used the cig lighter adapter. Biggest complaints is blown fuses and it comes loose in rough trails. I remember a couple of posts where the dealer had wired to an accessory.

Not sure where? I ran mine right from the battery. I installed an inline fuse holder (5 amp fuse I beleive) down at the battery and ran the wire through conduit, along the main wiring harness, up through the crash pad.
I use a red oversize vacumn plug cover to put on the live end when not in use. To prevent shorts. Worked great for me last year. Trouble free and no blown fuses. Also I agree a lot of work getting down there.
Specially having to take a brand new sled apart! But you got to learn sometime. Better to take it apart in your warm garage and learn how. Then trying it for the first time some where on a cold trail. The first time is a bitch, but each time will get better and better. Then it will only be 15 minutes to take apart.(To the battery) If your doing your own oil changes your going to have to get down there anyway. The battery and battery bracket will have to come out to get at the oil filter.
Good Luck Dan. Dan, Holy sh*t! To change the battery I've got to get down there.
Not cool but it is what it is. Yeah, I read on ty4stroke that people bolt it directly onto the the battery leads that are used for jumping the sled located under the right panel. I think I am either going to go that route of the cig lighter way but I haven't heard (until now) about them blowing fuses. Viva Hate Morrissey Download Blogspot. I wonder why? Download Tokyo Game Convention Los Angeles. If it's secure it shouldn't, I wouldn't think anyways. As far as draining the batt, it shouldn't as long as I remove and stow the cig adapter in my pouch under my wind screen. I really like the idea of how easly that could be...
Just my two cents. Thanks for all the help.
